Worlds Apart Residency is a unique and innovative collaboration that seeks to explore and experiment with cultural differences and a common mindset on improv and theater. Our goal is to provide an unforgettable experience for all students by nurturing their creativity, honing their skills, and building their confidence. With a focus on diversity and inclusion, we strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where everyone can feel free to express themselves and grow as artists.

Who will you be playing with?
Theater/Improv Teacher
Maro Lesioti
Maro is a graduate of Modern Times Drama School in Greece, specializing in improvisation techniques. She is the project manager of Raining Cats And Bats improv troupe, develops and customizes applied improvisation workshops for businesses and she is the producer of Improv Nights at NOUS Theater (Athens GR).
Theater/Improv Teacher
Tim Hearn
Tim began at Appalachian State, graduating with a bachelor’s in Theatre Education and began developing summer programs for Flatrock Playhouse and instructed adult workshops and classes all throughout North Carolina. Tim currently owns and operates Speakeasy Improv in Asheville NC.
Activities
Depending on the chosen city you will have the opportunity to attend theater and improv workshops, apply for a coaching sessions with our teachers or to perform with your group, see teachers' shows specially created for this project, student showcases, panel discussions and improv jams!
